Martwick hosts flu shot event in September

CHICAGO — State Senator Robert Martwick is hosting a free flu shot event on Sept. 27 to help keep residents healthy this fall and winter.

“With flu season approaching, it’s time to get vaccinated against this year’s strains,” said Martwick (D-Chicago). “This is the perfect opportunity for the community to easily get their flu shot.”

The event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Copernicus Center Lobby, 5126 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago. The shots will be free for individuals age three and older with insurance and seniors with Medicare Part B.

Due to limitations, payments will not be able to be accepted at the event. For this reason, individuals must have insurance or Medicare Part B to receive a flu shot.

“It’s important to remember to keep yourself, your family and our community safe this flu season,” said Martwick. “A flu shot is a quick and easy way to protect yourself and promote wellness.”
