CHICAGO – To celebrate the upcoming school year and prepare students as they head back to the classroom, State Senator Robert Martwick is hosting a back-to-school block party.
“Summer break is ending and this is a great way for families to enjoy one last family-fun event before the school year starts up again,” said Martwick (D-Chicago). “Join us for a chance to receive free school supplies, backpacks and more.”
Martwick is partnering with Representative Lindsey LaPointe, the Chicago Music and Acting Academy, and The Made Shop to host the Back to School Bash to celebrate their neighbors and the artists in the community while providing students with the supplies they need for the upcoming school year. Attendees will get to enjoy giveaways including free ice cream, manicures, backpacks, school supplies and take-home COVID-19 tests while supplies last.
“We all know back-to-school season can be expensive,” said Martwick. “These giveaways can help families save on supplies their kids need for the classroom.”
The event will be held near the Agatite Plaza, located at 4448 N. Milwaukee Ave., on Friday, Aug. 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. People with questions about the event can contact Martwick’s office at 773-286-1115.
