Two Fliers for upcoming Flu shots

Martwick hosts flu shot events in September

CHICAGO —State Senator Robert Martwick is hosting two free flu shot events on Sept. 14 and 16 to help keep residents healthy this fall and winter.

“Flu season is almost upon us, which means it’s time for people to get vaccinated against this year’s strains,” said Martwick (D-Chicago). “We can’t let our guard down and must continue to protect ourselves from illness.”

The first event will be Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Copernicus Center Lobby, 5126 W. Lawrence Ave. The second event will be Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. held in the parking lot for Eli’s Cheesecake at 6701 W. Forest Preserve Ave. The shots will be free for individuals with insurance who are 7 years or older and seniors with Medicare Part B. For individuals without insurance, shots will cost around $38.

“It’s important to remember to take care of yourself and your family this flu season,” said Martwick. “I’m proud to sponsor this opportunity to help the community and promote wellness.”
