SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Robert Martwick congratulates Senator Don Harmon on his selection to be the new president of the Illinois State Senate.
“Senate President Don Harmon is a proven leader who has worked throughout his career to advance our mission to support working families, protect our seniors and disabled populations and ensuring our first responders have the resources necessary to keep our communities safe,” Martwick said. “I look forward to working with him to serve the residents of the 10th District this upcoming legislative session.”
The Illinois State Senate convened on Sunday, Jan. 19 to elect a new Senate president after the resignation of John J. Cullerton from the state senate. Martwick commends Cullerton on his service to the great state of Illinois and wishes him the best during his retirement.
